Badge tests take over the 2K27 feed as Top Rep cheating claims spread and 6'9 Dunk/Block builds climb
NBA2KLab’s Dimer and Arc Cadence tests and NBA 2K Tutes’ Crasher test are the most-watched lab clips, while Top Rep cheating claims spread. 2K’s patch page still stops at September 17.

Official updates
- Official No new patch today. The latest entry on 2K’s patch page is still the unnumbered September 17 gameplay update, and the last numbered update is still v1.5 (September 11). 2K still says a broader patch will come before Season 2, but the page has no date for it. (2K patch notes)
- Official Ronnie2K spotlighted four more “stars in The City” who all play The Rec, with their builds in a swipe-through post (about 1.5K likes when we checked). It’s a build showcase, not a tuning note. (@Ronnie2K on X)
Badge tests
- Creator/guide NBA2KLab’s Dimer badge test is the most-watched lab clip of the window (about 33K views on the short and about 540 likes on X when we checked). (NBA2KLab (YouTube) · @NBA2KLab on X)
- Creator/guide In its Arc Cadence test (about 12K views), NBA2KLab says the Legend tier made almost 10% more moving corner threes than no badge, which hit 39% in their test. They also say the lowest tier barely helps. That is one creator’s test, so CourtCraft’s badge recommender isn’t changing. (NBA2KLab (YouTube))
- Creator/guide NBA 2K Tutes tested Crasher, the offensive-rebound badge, by watching which animation fires around 78 to 79 Rebound (about 23K views). A second video asks whether Vertical affects dunking (about 13K views). (NBA 2K Tutes: Crasher (YouTube) · NBA 2K Tutes: Vertical (YouTube))
What the community is talking about
- Community - verify Top Rep cheating claims are the loudest drama. Chad Benz says he matched up with a cheating top-Rep player in The Deep End (about 24K views). Brutalsim Da Guru’s video on Top Rep grinder allegations and “secret” gameplay changes has about 20K views and about 290 comments. These are accusations, and 2K hasn’t confirmed any of them. (Chad Benz (YouTube) · Brutalsim Da Guru (YouTube))
- Community - verify On r/NBA2k, a fan study claiming about 88% of 2K27’s animations are reused from older games drew about 335 upvotes and 123 comments. Another player says they were permanently banned after grinding a Fire and Concrete build-specialization method (about 229 comments in the Reddit archive). Both are single, unverified accounts. (r/NBA2k: reused animations · r/NBA2k: ban thread)
- Community - verify Badge frustration is spreading. One r/NBA2k poster called the Dimer results disappointing, and another says Unpluckable and defensive adrenaline don’t stop steal spam. In an X reply, NBA2KLab said it’s holding off on Glove and Unpluckable tests until after the patch because it expects them to change. That’s a guess, not a 2K note. - Creator/guide Lockdowns are the counter. ThatsZango’s 6'8 “Gravedigger” (92 Perimeter Defense, 90 Steal, 96 Driving Dunk) has about 11.5K views, and iso carlin’s 6'7 99 Perimeter / 99 Steal build has about 10K. On X, smallguards’ 6'5 two-way iso (99 Driving Dunk, 95 Strength, 89 3PT) drew about 249 likes, and NBA2KLab’s 6'4 with 96 Dunk drew about 230. Check every gate in NBA 2K HQ. Shooting notes
- Community - verify Not everyone thinks shooting is broken. martypartylive says they’re hitting 74% from three with an 83 3PT rating (about 182 likes). That’s one player’s stat line, not proof either way. (@martypartylive on X)
- Creator/guide xUncleCaino’s new “best jumpshot for Season 1” video has about 22K views. CourtCraft doesn’t cover jumpshots, so use NBA2KLab for those. (xUncleCaino (YouTube) · NBA2KLab)
