Official updates
- Official No new patch today. 2K’s page still lists v2.0 for October 8 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Nintendo Switch 2 and PC on October 16 — the same day Season 2 begins. Uniform updates in the notes still land after a roster update before Season 2. (2K patch notes (v2.0))
- Official @NBA2K pushed a Crews Division Tournament weekend call-to-play (about 554 likes and 149K views when we checked). That’s event marketing, not a gameplay patch. (@NBA2K on X)
What the community is talking about
- Community - verify The day-two shooting fight got louder. _oFAB says contests aren’t fine — he made a 7’4 and shot on defenders every play (about 283 likes / 23K views). He also argues dunk is the worst attribute right now (about 281 likes / 52K views) and that no comp player wanted shooting easier after ghost contests and timing were already the ask (about 76 likes). Solo’s clip that people are “shooting anything after the patch” had about 197 likes. These are feel takes — 2K hasn’t posted a follow-up. (@_oFAB on X · @_oFAB on X · @_oFAB on X · @YT_Solo on X)
- Community - verify The #1 REP Cashout ban story from overnight kept climbing on YouTube. eeglou’s live reaction is about 131K views, a follow-up “crashes out on chat” clip is about 50K, xUncleCaino’s top-reps ban short is about 28K, and Brutalsim’s news roundup is about 20K. 2K still hasn’t posted an official statement about that account on the channels we checked — treat the reason and permanence as community reports. - Creator/guide Defense and dribble how-tos kept shipping. iBlanK’s lockdown-secrets short after the patch is about 21K views. xUncleCaino’s post-patch quickstop tip is about 20K. Build & attribute meta
- Creator/guide Post-patch Rec tapes are still the build feed. COLETHEMAN’s Wilt Chamberlain Rec tape is about 22K views. NBA2KLab’s 6’4 Anthony Edwards build post had about 143 likes / 18K views on X. unluckyBOARD’s 99-block center is about 10K views. Re-test any pre-patch guide — ghost contests and steal penalties change how those attributes play. (COLETHEMAN (YouTube) · @NBA2KLab on X · unluckyBOARD (YouTube))
- Creator/guide Jumpshot shopping didn’t cool off. ChaMoma’s “best jumpshots after patch” is about 13K views, and Chad Benz shipped an updated dribble tutorial (about 14K). CourtCraft doesn’t cover jumpers — use NBA2KLab for that. (ChaMoma (YouTube) · Chad Benz (YouTube) · NBA2KLab)
What changed on CourtCraft
- Official Optimize still uses the Patch 2.0 (Oct 8, 2026) meta. Rise Up keeps the small Bronze/Silver boost and the Gold+ Sep 17 boost. No new official numbers landed today for contests, mid-range, steals, dunks, or Takeovers, and community feel reports don’t meet our bar for another weight change. Badge thresholds are unchanged. PC and Switch 2 players still wait until October 16. (2K patch notes (v2.0) · CourtCraft Optimize)
